That became normal life for Dr Cryme while studying at Methodist University.
Speaking with Kafui Dey, the rapper admitted returning to school wasn’t easy especially when the programme demanded calculations and management courses.
“There was more maths than I expected,” he laughed.
Still, quitting never crossed his mind.“This is a mission. I have to see it through.”
His programme ran on weekends, meaning weekdays often belonged to music, media appearances and performances.
Sometimes, he would leave a concert only to report to class the next morning.
“One week they see me on stage, the following week I’m sitting with them writing exams.”
His classmates witnessed a side of celebrity life many people never see.
“They realized that whatever I did outside, I still came back to class.”
For Dr Cryme, education wasn’t something to pursue after music. It was something to pursue alongside it.
The experience, he says, proved that discipline, not convenience is what makes balancing dreams possible.
