Ghanaian musician Dela Botri has recalled his surprise after seeing goats and sheep moving around an airport during one of his trips across Africa.

Dela Botri said the unusual sight occurred while he was travelling with a group of musicians to Algiers for a cultural festival.

“We landed at one of the airports and then I saw goats and sheep… in the airport. I was like, ‘What is this?’” he recalled.

He said the animals appeared to be moving freely around the airport premises, leaving him stunned because it was the first time he had encountered such a scene at an airport.

“Goats? What were the goats doing?” the interviewer asked.

Dela Botri said he could not establish exactly why the animals were there but believed the airport was close to farmland.

“I don’t know, but the thing is that their airport is close to how do you call it? I think the farmland or… I don’t know. The goat was in the airport,” he said.

The musician said the unusual encounter became one of the memorable moments from the journey, which involved musicians travelling through several African countries.

The trip eventually took the group to Algeria, where Dela Botri performed as part of a cultural programme featuring artists from across the continent.
