Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has stated that success should not be measured only by fame or career achievements, arguing that health, family life and personal growth are equally important indicators of a fulfilled life.
Speaking in an interview with Kafui Dey, M.anifest described success as an ongoing journey rather than a fixed destination, noting that his understanding of achievement has evolved over time.
He said many people often associate success strictly with professional milestones, but he now sees it in broader, more personal terms.
“Success is such a… tedious concept. The road to success is a never-ending one.”
According to him, success includes both personal wellbeing and the ability to live meaningfully, not just professional recognition.
“Being successful is maybe if I’m able to live to a hundred. Being successful is great health. Being successful is being able to do music for a living. Being successful is being a father and maybe not always being good at it, but learning on the job.”
The award-winning rapper emphasized that personal development and character remain central to how he defines a successful life.
He added that the most important goal is continuous self-improvement as a human being, beyond music and public recognition.
“Ultimately, the joy is the journey. Being successful as a human being is the most important thing. Everything else is a branch of that tree.”
