Talent may open doors, but according to Dr Cryme, character determines whether they stay open.

Reflecting on his journey to becoming one of Ghana’s most recognisable brand ambassadors, he offered a lesson he believes every young creative should hear.

“You don’t get to sit in all the meetings where your name is discussed,” he told Kafui Dey. That, he says, is why reputation matters.

He warned entertainers against chasing temporary trends or creating controversy that could damage future opportunities.

“Tomorrow your name might come up somewhere important. Don’t let one bad decision take away the shine”, he said.

Instead, he encourages artistes to focus on doing excellent work while protecting their personal brand.

“Do your best and let God handle the rest.”

Dr Cryme acknowledges that every opportunity comes with critics, but believes the goal is to build enough credibility that more people argue in your favour than against you.

“There will always be people who oppose you. But let the people supporting you be more”, he said.

His philosophy is simple: fame attracts attention, but trust secures opportunities.

In an industry where endorsement deals are increasingly competitive, Dr Cryme believes being bankable means giving companies confidence that your reputation is as valuable as your talent.
