Former 5Five member Papi Adabraka has called on industry players to put aside their egos and support dancehall artiste Shatta Wale, describing him as a natural leader whose influence has helped transform Ghana’s music landscape.

Speaking in an interview with media personality Kafui Dey, Papi said the music industry should allow Shatta Wale to lead rather than engage in unnecessary competition with him.

“It doesn’t mean Shatta is a better musician than me. It doesn’t mean I’m a better musician than him. But if he gets a touch and they give him a touch to lead, make him lead, make him go,” he said.

According to Papi, one of the major challenges within the entertainment industry is ego, which often prevents people from supporting those who are making progress.

“And the problem we have over here is like, all men have ego. But some egos be nonsense. Like, you can’t beat Shatta. Let him go. Leave him,” he stated.

The musician praised Shatta Wale’s journey from obscurity to becoming one of Ghana’s most influential music figures, saying his success story serves as motivation for others.

Papi noted that Shatta Wale’s comeback remains one of the biggest in Ghanaian music history, arguing that the artiste returned not just to make music but to dominate the industry.

He further credited Shatta Wale for inspiring him personally and encouraging him to return to recording music.

The former 5Five star also commended the artiste’s loyal fan base, popularly known as the Shatta Movement, and highlighted Shatta Wale’s ability to communicate directly with his audience through digital platforms.
